Jonathon Sawyer, Ph.D., is a sole-proprietor and Founder of Peptide Scientia, a consulting business that assists biotech companies in research and development efforts of peptide-based therapeutics. He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Arizona where his primary research objective focused on the development
of improved anti-obesity drugs through structure-activity relationships studies of known therapeutics that target two G-protein coupled receptor families, namely the melanocortins (MCRs) and glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1). Jonathon was raised a Catholic who sought to do good works from a young age through his volunteer work
at his family’s Parish on weekends. As Jonathon’s passion and deeper understanding for the sciences grew, his appreciation and love for God blossomed. Jonathon seeks the magnificence and mystery of God and God’s Creation as he continues his journey to new discoveries through the lens of science!
