Thomas Sawyer, Ph.D., M.A., is a scientist and bioethical writer. After graduate school, he started his own business, Goodscience Consulting, which provides scientific research, writing, and communications services to clients. During his doctoral studies within the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Thomas gained expertise in structural biology and protein X-ray crystallography. He solved the crystal structure of a protein complex that has implications for the study of Fabry disease, a lysosomal storage disorder. Prior to this, he obtained a Master’s in Theology from Ave Maria University, where he studied the works of Saint Thomas Aquinas and Aristotle. Concurrently, he completed the
National Catholic Bioethics Center certification program in healthcare ethics.

Thomas resides in Florida with his wife, two daughters, and son.
